Calvin Tian Introduction
My name is Calvin Tian, and I am from Syosset, New York. I graduated from Syosset High School last year and just recently completed my first year of college at Binghamton University. I am currently enrolled in the Watson School of Engineering, majoring in Biomedical Engineering. I am a very big fan of board games, such as Scrabble, Sorry, Chess, Monopoly, and Connect Four. Occasionally, I’ll also feel the urge to draw something as well, and have recently become interested in pixel art.
I am looking forward to this internship in hopes that it will help me improve my public speaking and leadership skills, as these skills are extremely relevant in all fields of study, including mine. I believe getting a head start on improving these skills will make my life much easier in the long run. This is also a rare opportunity for me to gain a deeper understanding of the inner workings of the United Nations. Anyone can use Google to learn how the organization functions, but few get to see it in action, much less observe it first-hand.
